The Indian Institute of Information Technology Agartala (IIIT Agartala) is one of the IIITs established on a Not-for-profit Public-Private Partnership (N-PPP) basis by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The institute focuses on higher education, research, and training in Information Technology and allied disciplines.

Institute of National Importance: IIIT Agartala was declared an Institute of National Importance on 4 February 2020 by an Act of Parliament under the Indian Institutes of Information Technology (Public-Private Partnership) Act, 2017.

Mentor Institute

National Institute of Technology Agartala

NIT Agartala serves as the Mentor Institute for IIIT Agartala, providing academic and administrative guidance. All classes, laboratories, hostels, and library facilities are provided to IIIT Agartala students on the NIT Agartala campus.
